Application for Head TD

Requirements for Head Tournament Directors:

1. Head TDs are required to always set a good example of behavior in the Hamster Pit lobby. Examples are: not using foul language at any time and not arguing with the trouble makers that come into the lobby just to be nasty and rude (that includes not egging them on when they should be put on ignore instead). Head TDs should never be quick to lose their temper or rude to any member or other TD. Any time a Head TD is going to offer help or advice to another TD it should be done on Yahoo Instant Messenger, not in the lobby. If they are asked a question in the lobby, they can answer it there if they know it is befitting to do so. Otherwise, they should answer the question on Yahoo Instant Messenger no matter where the question was asked. Head TDs also need to treat fellow TDs and members with dignity and stay as impartial as possible.

2. Head TDs need to exhibit common sense at all times and in any given situation. If they are not sure how to handle something, they should ask another Head TD or an Administrator.

3. A position of Head TD is one of more responsibility and work. It is not , nor should it ever be, considered a position of power to order other TDs around. It is a Head TDs responsibility to be available to help when and where help is needed.

4. Since a Head TD may be called upon to cover another TDs tourney, all Head TDs need to be fully trained in all types of tourneys; i.e.: single elimination, double elimination, Swiss, tag team, and paper tourneys. If a Head TD is in the Hamster Pit and a tourney needs to be covered, they should cover it.

5. Head TDs main purpose is to cover other people's tourneys when they don't show up, in addition to running their own tourneys. There may be days when you will have to run several tourneys. If you are not ever willing to do this, being a Head TD is probably not a job for you. It isn't more glamorous than being a TD. It is literally more work and more dedication to The Wildones league.

6. Head TDs are still required to make their own tourneys. However, should they cover a tourney for another TD, they do receive credit for that tourney as if it was their own.

Due to the overwhelming desire from many TDs wanting to be Head TDs, should any Head TD not meet these requirements without talking to Administration, they can be returned to TD status without notice. One of the reasons you would be chosen for a Head TD position is the amount of time you are seen in the Hamster Pit, but, at the same time, please do not feel it requires you to be there all the time.
